By creating a Jothsna account or accessing our services, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully — they cover account rules, purchases, refunds, instructor obligations, and how disputes are handled.
1. Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent in your region) to use Jothsna. You're responsible for your account, for keeping your credentials secure, and for activity that happens on it.
2. Enrollment & access
When you enroll in a course, we grant you a personal, non-transferable license to access the course content for personal, non-commercial learning. You may not resell, redistribute, or scrape course content, or use it to train machine-learning models without permission.
3. Payments & refunds
Prices are shown at checkout in the currency of your region. Course purchases are eligible for a full refund within 7 days of purchase, provided you have consumed less than 25% of the course content. Bundle and subscription refunds are pro-rated. Refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.
4. Instructor terms
Instructors retain ownership of their course content and grant Jothsna a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, market, and deliver it. Instructors are responsible for the accuracy, legality, and originality of their content. Revenue share, payout thresholds, and currency are set out in the Creator Agreement accepted during onboarding.
5. Acceptable use
Do not:
- Post harassing, discriminatory, or illegal content.
- Impersonate another person or organization.
- Attempt to bypass access controls or copy protected content.
- Use the platform to distribute malware or send spam.
Violations may result in content removal, account suspension, or termination without refund.
6. Certificates
Jothsna certificates verify completion of a specific course under a specific instructor at a point in time. They are not accredited degrees. Certificates can be publicly verified via the URL printed on each certificate.
7. Intellectual property
The Jothsna name, marks, and platform software are our property. Instructor course content belongs to the respective instructors. All other content on Jothsna is protected by copyright and other laws.
8. Disclaimers & liability
The platform is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, Jothsna disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
9. Termination
You may close your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for material breaches of these terms, with notice where practical.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bengaluru, unless local law grants you a non-waivable right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
